"Christmas Kool" closes out the 2012 Jazz Vespers concert series.
It's a wrap! The Christmas Kool show closed out the 2012 Jazz Vespers season. Another great performance. Released several CD's after the show including the Elvis Presley Tribute and the Henry Mancini night tribute. Also released one from last years series...the Herbie Hancock tribute. A great show by the Jazz Vespers quartet of David Halliday, Courtney Smith, Denson Angulo and Steve Lyman.
The CD's are available on the site. Click on the "Albums" link on the top of the page or just click here... I've also posted a link to one of the videos from the Christmas Kool show. There are lot's more videos on YouTube. Just search for Jazz vespers Quartet. Stevie Wonder night at Jazz Vespers
WOW!!!! That pretty much sum's up last nights show! Talk about performance energy, the band performed their Stevie Wonder tribute and took it completely over the top. More Jazz....
Had another great Jazz Vespers show tonight. The theme was Henry Mancini ( a favorite of mine) and the band put together some great arrangements and did a fantastic performance. Big crowd and a good time.
Next weeks show will be themed Bob Dylan. Hope to see you there! A great start to the 2012 Jazz Vespers season.
The first concert of the 2012 Jazz Vespers season was a great success! Great crowd and the band, as usual, was fantastic. Last nights show was a Led Zeppelin theme. If you're wondering how on earth Led Zeppeling translates to jazz...well, it turns out...darn well! Arrangements by music directors Courtney Smith and David Halliday included classics like Immigrants Song, Kashmir and Stairway to heaven among others. Great performances and a particularly great acoustic bass solo by Denson Angulo. Lots of …
A New Look!
I'd been wanting to revamp the site for awhile but had'nt gotten around to it. No massive chnages but wanted to go to a "cooler" look (cooler as in color temp but I hope it also looks fairly hip :)
Hope everyone likes the change. |
